Rather Be Playing 10: Rabid Mario

Welcome to our milestone 10th episode! What an exciting time! And how did we kick off the celebration? By reading a book! Wait, what? That’s right, Jason Schreier’s Blood, Sweat, and Pixels hit bookshelves recently, and we have a lot of (good) things to say about it. We also had a million backlog games to play on top of some pretty exciting new releases that we wanted to dabble in. Why do we pile these games up on ourselves so much? Josh alone played enough for the whole crew twice over this week because he’s sick and desperately needs our help. For a nickel per day, you could sponsor a Josh.

Josh finished his Final Fantasy V Child’s Play run, and then went on to play and finish Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and Destiny 2. Well, at least the main campaign for the latter. Josh and Stevo also finished Wolfenstein The New Order and Spec Ops: The Line. Meanwhile, Elliot… well, he tried. He really did. He promises he’ll have everything done by the next episode. Except for maybe this new Backlog Roulette game, which he will murder Josh for choosing. Take a wild guess what game it is! At least we all read through the first part of Blood, Sweat, and Pixels.

And last but not least, we start gearing up for a booth and panel at LexiCON on October 7 at the Lexington Park Library in Lexington Park, Maryland. We’ll be joining the awesome folks over at the Same Team Y’all podcast to answer all your podcasty questions. It’s still a few weeks away, but if you’re planning to stop by give Stevo and Elliot a shout and send Josh hate mail for not being there.

Topics Discussed:

  • Blood, Sweat, and Pixels
  • Destiny 2
  • Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order
  • LexiCON 2017
  • Backlog Roulette
