The first teaser trailer of the long-awaited PS4 and PC game Shenmue III is now out, giving us our first glimpse into the look of the game. Character and environmental designs and animations are showcased in the brief trailer. Starting out as a successful Kickstarter, Shenmue III is being developed by Neilo and Ys Net and published by Deep Silver. The game is due to be released in the latter half of 2018.
|I never had a Dreamcast so I missed out on Shenmue, but I know it is fondly loved by those who have played it. Hopefully there is a way to play the old games coming up, because I’d love to see what all the fuss is about.|
|Oh man, I wish I could say this looked great. I mean, yeah, it’s amazing to have a new Shenmue game out, but it looks like they just took the original engine, uprezzed it, and made some new scenarios with it. Non-existent facial animations and stiff, robotic animations otherwise. The world, music, and characters are great and bring in a lot of nostalgia to feel right at home, but I hope there’s enough time left to breathe some real life into this world before the game ships.|
