It’s a new year with new games and new resolutions. And those resolutions for us are to… not play any of those new games? What? Why? Don’t we host a podcast about playing video games? Won’t avoiding new games rob us of our content? Not at all! Well, we hope not. We’ve thought this one through and we’re pretty confident it’ll all work out. And if not, we’ve got plenty of loopholes set up as a safety net. But that’s not the point of this! Remember our old friend from way back, the Backlog Roulette? That used to be what Rather Be Playing was all about: digging into our dusty backlogs to play some old games and see how well they hold up. Needless to say we strayed from our path in 2017 and bought nearly every major new release that came up. And who could blame us? It was an insanely good year for games, as we keep saying. So we thought this would be an excellent time to try and actually play these insanely good games, and, while we’re at it, maybe not add any new games to our poor backlogs.
So come along for the ride as we catch up on some of last year’s most acclaimed releases with some older titles thrown in, and perhaps a few new 2018 releases here and there thanks to the loopholes we’ve allowed. The good news is we’re going to be playing mostly recent games that we’re expecting to be very good, and we’re going to keep on playing and streaming Rocket League, PUBG, and even more multiplayer games. AND we have measures in place to ensure we don’t miss the conversations if a new juggernaut or two comes out this year. And the bad news is… actually, there is no bad news! This is a flawless set up and you’re going to love it! We’re really excited to get into it with the next episode, out one week from today!
Until then, keep on playing!
